1. Acceptance
These terms cover the Koh Chang Community app ("the app") and kohchang.ai. "We" and "us" means the company named at the end of these terms. By creating an account or using the app, you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, please do not use the app.
2. Who can use it
You must be at least 18 years old to use the app. By using it you confirm that you meet this requirement and that the information you provide is accurate.
3. Community standards. Zero tolerance for objectionable content
The app lets people post content and message one another. There is zero tolerance for objectionable content or abusive behaviour. You agree not to post, send, or share anything that is unlawful, hateful, harassing, threatening, sexually explicit, violent, discriminatory, fraudulent, spam, or that infringes another person’s rights. You will not impersonate others or attempt to circumvent safety features. Accounts that breach these standards may be suspended or removed.
4. Reporting and blocking
Every member can report content or people, and can block another user, from within the app. We review reports and act on them. Including removing content and ejecting users who violate these terms. If you see something that breaks the rules, please report it.
5. Your content
You keep ownership of what you post. By posting, you grant Koh Chang Community a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to host, display and share your content in the app, on kohchang.ai, and on our own pages and groups on social media such as Facebook, so the app can work and people can find it. You are legally responsible for your own content and messages, and you confirm you have the right to post them. We may remove content that breaches these terms or the law. If anyone makes a claim against us because of something you posted, or because you broke these terms, you agree to cover the losses, damages and reasonable legal costs that result.
Posts in Social and listings in the marketplace are public. Anyone can share a link to them outside the app, other members as well as us, for example in a Facebook group or a chat. The link shows a preview with the words and the first photo, never your name or profile photo. Only post what you are happy for anyone to see. If you delete a post or a listing, its link stops working and its preview goes, but we cannot remove copies other people have made elsewhere.
Photos you add to a review go further. You also grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to show the photo as the main photo of the place you reviewed, in the app and on kohchang.ai, and to use it in advertising and promotion of Koh Chang Community, credited with the name on your profile. This applies to review photos added from 30 September 2026 onwards. If you delete the review, or your account, we stop using the photo in the app and on the website, and we do not use it in new advertising.
6. Reviews
A review must be your own honest opinion of your own experience, written by you. Anything you state as a fact must be true, and you must be able to show it is true if asked. Do not review a business you own, work for or compete with, or one that paid or rewarded you for the review. Do not accuse anyone of a crime or of wrongdoing you cannot prove, and do not mention the monarchy. The businesses reviewed here are in Thailand, so reviews must also follow Thai law. Written reviews and photos are checked before they appear, and we may decline or remove any review that breaks these rules. A review is the opinion of the person who wrote it, not of Koh Chang Community.
7. Complaints about content
We host what members post; we do not write it or check every fact in it. If you believe something here is false, defamatory or otherwise unlawful, tell us at hello@kohchang.ai with a link to it and your reason, or use Report in the app. We look at every complaint promptly, remove or restrict content that breaches these terms or the law, and cooperate with valid requests from the authorities.
8. Businesses and listings
Business pages, deals and marketplace listings are provided by their respective businesses and members. Koh Chang Community is a platform that connects people; we are not a party to any transaction between you and a business or another member, and we do not guarantee any service, price or availability.
9. Suspension and termination
We may suspend or terminate access for anyone who breaches these terms or misuses the app. You may stop using the app and delete your account at any time from the account settings.
10. Disclaimer and liability
The app is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. To the extent permitted by law, Koh Chang Community is not liable for any loss arising from your use of the app, from content posted by members or businesses, or from interactions with them. Where the law does not allow us to exclude liability, our total liability to you is limited to US$50 or the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim, whichever is greater.
11. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Kingdom of Cambodia, and the courts of Phnom Penh have jurisdiction over any dispute about them. This does not take away any rights you have under the consumer laws of the country where you live.
